It is the most prestigious mention of the municipality of Novello, renowned for its unique characteristics in terms of altitude, soil and climate.
Our vineyard is located on the eastern slope, not far from the border with the municipality of Barolo, in the part recognised as the extension of the upper part of Terlo.
The vineyard stretches out to form a long strip, at an evenly situated altitude of 400 m above sea level, and is divided into five slightly different segments with mainly south-easterly exposure.
The area is very windy and the difference between daytime and night-time temperatures are considerable, leading to an increase in the quality of the Nebbiolo grapes, improving the phenolic and aromatic composition, which has always been considered a distinctive feature of this renowned mention.
The soil is of Tortonian origin, made up mainly of laminated Sant’Agata fossil marl.
It is alkaline calcareous clay soil with good water retention capacity.
The wines produced from these vineyards are distinguished by freshness and elegance, and their broad polyphenolic framework and outstanding structure have contributed to making them known and appreciated for complexity and longevity.
